Say, Freya? What's the staple length on the bamboo and tencel you have up on ANdrea's shop? (Not exactly, just an estimate.)

MG I'd guess about 4 inches for both. Very nice stuff.

Wow, Freya, it's all so pretty! I really should practice more so my yarn looks like something you might actually want to use

Freya--have you ever heard of Ravelry? It's a Tellurian website for devotees of knitting, crochet, and spinning. There's a special designation for people who make and/or dye yarn--"yarnies"--and I think your rovings would go over really well there. You need to register, but it's worth it. You'd get a whole new window into Tellurian culture!

Oh, Freya! I got the Depths of the Gurge roving, and it is GORGEOUS! I haven't started on it yet, I'm still trying to decide between a supported spindle and a drop spindle. Any advice?

Sorry all! I've been wildly busy and distracted. There was a big festival (or maybe it was just a spontaneous party ... who can tell the difference!) in my lot a few days ago and I'm still re-orienting myself.
TexAnne: I have heard of Ravelry and I believe Andrea has set up an account over there under my name. She's been using it though. It can be terribly confusing, this marketing by proxy thing. Heheh.
MG: I'm so glad you like the Gurge fiber! Bamboo spins well on any type of spindle or wheel, but I'll warn you, its very slippery until you get used to it. So perhaps starting out on a supported spindle thats not pulling heavily on the fiber would work best. I look forward to seeing pictures of what you do with it!

There's a Freya, but she's listed as living in California. That's not you, is it?

I've gotten the pieces to make a drop spindle.
Wish me luck assembling them and putting them to use.
(can hardly wait until CC is back on the M2I again)
